Welcome to the REC Registry

Error: Please check and correct the following issues before continuing:

The Clean Energy Regulator has moved the REC Registry to single sign-on. You are now able to access all your REC Registry accounts using a single login.

We have introduced a new login process known as multi-factor authentication. Learn more about logging in to our systems after 27 June.

Please make sure your account details are up to date before this change.

Find out more at we’re introducing a new login process.

Are you applying for a new account?

When submitting an account application, you are required to undertake a Proof of Identity Check.

If you experience a session expiry issue during this process, we recommend trying another browser.

We are currently working to resolve this issue.

Please contact the Clean Energy Regulator on 1300 553 542 or enquiries@cleanenergyregulator.gov.au if you need any more information or assistance.

The REC Registry is an online system that:

  • facilitates the creation, registration, transfer and surrender of large-scale generation certificates (LGCs) and small-scale technology certificates (STCs)
  • tracks the ownership and status of all certificates
  • provides access to the STC clearing house, and
  • maintains various public registers as required by the Renewable Energy (Electricity) Act 2000 (the REE Act).

All certificates must be created in the REC Registry before they can be bought, sold, traded or surrendered.

You must hold an account and be registered as a REC Registry user to create, view or transfer certificates. If you do not have an account and would like to apply for one, click on the 'Apply for an account' tab above.
